The tropical weather, great beaches, and hospitable locals aren’t all that Bintan has to offer; the island also has several internationally-acclaimed golf courses that pull in golfers from around the world. So if you’re into golf, be sure to pack your golf gear and apparel and set foot on these beautifully-designed Bintan golf courses that will leave you in awe (and mildly sweating from a great game) as you play on them. There are additional fees payable to play at these golf courses, but the experience is sure to be worth it!

Ria Bintan Golf Club

This is probably Bintan’s most well-known golf course because it was designed by the golf legend Gary Player himself. The club has two courses to play on, namely the Ocean Course and the Forest Course. The Ocean Course is a must-try for golfers in Bintan. This par 72, 18-hole visual spectacle has breathtaking views you’ll have to see to believe. From hole 7 onward, you are treated to views of the South China Sea which you’ll want to etch into your memory. Not only that, but this course also gets tougher from hole 9 onwards due to the terrain, perfect if you’re looking to sharpen your skills.

If you prefer to see greenery and trees instead of the sea, then you should play on the Forest Course. This par 36, 9-hole course has fresh dewy air, trees that go on and on, as well as calming lake views. It is a challenging but very rewarding course with a variety of bunkers and fairways to spice things up.

Laguna Golf Bintan

Laguna Golf may not be as famous as a Bintan golf course as the previous two options, but it’s worth a visit if you’d like to visit other golf options on the island. There is only one course here, and it’s a par 72, 18-hole course that was originally designed by Greg Norman but has since been revamped to be even more aesthetically-pleasing. The unique thing about this Bintan golf course is that it has a variety of terrains and offers different kinds of views, depending on which hole you are at. From sea views to jungle environments, you will be inspired and rejuvenated during a game on this golf course, especially at the penultimate hole 17 where you can directly golf over gorgeous natural rock formations.
