Kiroro Grand Japan

First time learning to ski properly. and Club Med really made the whole process so fuss free! Everything is taken care of from start to finish, there is a ready programme if you wanna follow along and meals are all sorted. The ski/snowboard lessons are well-arranged and well-organised which makes for a wonderful experience.

We had our family ski trip at Club Med Kiroro and overall we were happy with the experience 😊

As we travelled during the school holidays, there were quite a lot of kids compared to our previous trip to Sahoro in January. Kiroro Grand did a really great job with the kids’ activities — the GO team was amazing and very engaging 👏

The only small disappointment was the kids’ ski lessons, where we felt the progression was a bit slow.

So just a small tip to share — if you’re visiting during peak periods like school holidays, it might be better to consider a private ski lesson. This allows the coach to assess your child more closely and helps avoid being stuck at the same level for a few days, like what my son experienced.

Overall, still a very enjoyable family trip!

Excellent resort. Very easy with kids, excellent snow and amazing location if you plan a ski trip late in the year (Kiroro as more snow than other locations)

Family skiing holiday! Best trip ever. Everything from accommodation, slopes, entertainment, food and drink but skiing was the highlight. Best snow I’ve ever seen and the best skiing instructors especially Sergey , we had him for 4 days! He is just the best. My husband had never skied before and learnt so much from Sergey. We are coming back next year and hope that he will be there!!! I highly recommend this resort to anyone! Especially the skiing lessons

Kiroro Grand was a great place! This is our second time to the resort and boy we had fun! The place is big but you don't feel congested or that it's crowded. I think it's because of the flow of the place that you don't feel that the dining area or bar is full.

But a resort is nothing without it's people. Here are some people that made our stay perfect and not in any particular order:

1. Gerry, the ski instructor. My wife took a bad fall some years ago and she is wary when skiing. Gerry has been particularly helpful in getting her back in terms of confidence building and ski technique refinement. He would stop after a few turns, ensure that the class is still with him and to make sure he is doing what he has taught. He would also segregate the class according to the level which is especially helpful. Gerry also takes the time to work on different drills (though hard) to work on specific parts of the technique. He is one of the main reasons why we wanted to go back to Kiroro!

2. Guylord, the bartender. He is the man I would look for for my morning coffee and afternoon tea. He makes the effort to remember how to make them the way I like it, just after one encounter.

3. Coach Beef (Christopher), the kid's Ski Instructor. Our kids love him though his expectations are high. He ensures the kids ski safely and that they learn well to prevent any bad habits from forming.
