Val Thorens Sensations France

We have just come back from a week in Val Thorens Sensations. Overall, we had a great time. There was a bit confusion on the first morning regarding lessons, but we were able to get into the right groups very quickly and the rest of the week's lessons went smoothly. I would say the rooms are a little tired but the beds are comfy and the rooms clean. That said, my husband and I both didn't sleep particularly well all week - I think the altitude may have played a part as we really did find the beds very comfortable. The food is excellent. The evening entertainment was good and the charismatic Club Med leader in the hotel is great. He and the team really work hard to ensure a great atmosphere for adults and teens alike. This was my first Club Med holiday and I'm impressed at just how easy the all inclusive package makes holidaying in a ski resort. We didn't need to pay for anything once we arrived. Gettng the skis etc is easy as it's in the same building as the hotel and ski passes are provided when you get to the hotel, meaning none of the usual hassle of trying to get set up to go skiing. Given that lessons are included in the price, I decided to try them out, even though I can ski well. I am so glad I did, they were more "guided tours" than lessons at my level. The instructor was great, I met some lovely people and it was nice to not have to navigate the piste map all the time. Highly recommend the holiday, would love to come back.

Wonderful experience. Skiing was excellent, very helpful guide/instructor. Resort was very pleasant, good food. Staff was friendly and helpful. Special appreciation for Clemence Potellet.
